Having hosted two 48 Hour Challenges, the organizers of the Akron Film Festival decided to find out what we've been putting our contestants through. At the beginning of August we made a short for the Cleveland 48 Hour Film project with the help of our friends Mike Wendt, Carolyn Corzine, Keith Aukeman, Jason Moliterno, Gina Snyder, and Jacilyn Ledford.
I personally got four hours of sleep between Friday morning and Sunday evening, but it all must have been worth it because we won "Best Use of Prop" at the awards ceremony on August 21st! Check out our film on Vimeo, and try to watch it in a sleep-deprived state of mind!

Jared Gonzales and Joey Weaver live in a renovated ballroom in Dover, Ohio, and they're turning it into an art, music, and film venue. Their first event, a month long retrospective of the films of Wes Anderson, kicks off this Friday, July 3rd at 9 PM with a free screening of Bottle Rocket. Here's a bigger version of the poster at left and a poster for the retrospective. Each film will have its own poster designed by Rosemary Travale. Cool? Yes. Like most of Anderson's films, Bottle Rocket gets better every time I see it, so I'll see you there. The Dover Ballroom is at 123 W.3rd St. #301.
